Where it all started
Brian’s career in pest control began several years before BugBoss existed. He spent roughly three years in the industry before starting the company, gaining experience both in the field and in a management role — a combination that let him learn the business from more than one angle.
He wasn’t just learning how to eliminate pests. He was learning pest biology and behavior, treatment strategy, customer service, business operations, and — maybe most importantly — how much trust people place in the person they call when something has invaded their home or business. Over those years, Brian found that pest control was work he genuinely enjoyed and cared about doing well.
Eventually he and Amber started talking about what their future could look like if they took everything they’d learned and built something of their own. In April 2021, they took the chance, and BugBoss The X-Terminator was born.
The decision wasn’t simply about owning a business. It was about creating a better future for their family, building a company around their own values, and making something that could become a real part of the communities they serve. They wanted BugBoss to be different — they wanted customers to know the person standing at their door, to feel comfortable asking questions and understanding what was happening in their home, and to build relationships rather than just complete service calls. Most of all, they wanted to build a company people could trust.
Experience built in the field
Since entering the industry, Brian has built extensive hands-on experience solving pest and wildlife problems across Wisconsin — general household insects, ants, spiders, cockroaches, bed bugs, mosquitoes, ticks, mice and other rodents, bats, nuisance wildlife, structural exclusion, and plenty of problems that don’t fit neatly in a category. That work ranges from everyday residential pests to difficult infestations, commercial pest management, preventative programs, and the kind of situations that take real investigation to figure out why a problem is happening in the first place.
Brian believes good pest control starts with understanding the problem. Rather than just treating what can be seen, BugBoss looks at why the pest is there, where it’s coming from, how it’s getting into the structure, and what conditions are feeding the problem. Sometimes the answer is a professional treatment. Other times it’s exclusion work, rodent monitoring and control, sanitation or habitat changes, structural repairs, or a combination of several strategies. The goal isn’t simply to treat pests — the goal is to solve problems.
From two people and an idea to a growing company
A lot has changed since April 2021. What started with Brian, Amber, and an idea for a better future has kept growing year after year. BugBoss now serves homeowners, businesses, property managers, and commercial accounts throughout Central and Northeast Wisconsin with a growing range of pest and wildlife services.
As the customer base grew, so did the company — new equipment, expanded services, better systems, and new people joining the BugBoss team. The small company Brian and Amber took a chance on has grown into the business they envisioned. Through all of it, one thing has stayed non-negotiable: BugBoss should never get so big that it forgets how it became successful in the first place. That growth has been built one customer at a time — through relationships, referrals, repeat customers, and people trusting BugBoss enough to recommend it to their friends, family, neighbors, and businesses. That trust means everything to us.
Always learning, always improving
Pest control never stops changing. New products come out, technology improves, regulations shift, pest pressures move, and research keeps sharpening how professionals protect homes and businesses. Brian takes being a professional seriously — staying current, holding the right credentials, and doing the work the right way rather than the fast way.
